Herniated Disk Machine
A herniated disk machine often referred to as a Traction
Machine is one common solution to conditions like sciatica or
other chronic back pain. Most back pain is the result of
a herniated disk. Resetting the herniated disk will
relieve the pressure it is placing on the sciatic nerve thereby
reducing the intense pain many complain of. What a
herniated disk machine does is basically elongate or extend the
spine just enough to allow a herniated or bulging disk to reset
itself into place.
Obviously a herniated disk machine has its limitations and
should not be considered the only option in treating a
condition like sciatica. The first step in treating
sciatica is to locate the area that is causing the pressure on
the sciatic nerve. Once properly diagnosed, treatment can
begin. Most treatments involve massage and physical
therapy. Many physicians however, have found that once
the herniated disk is the in the retraction stage, a herniated
disk machine can speed up the time it takes for that disk to
reset. By decompressing the spine, a herniated disk
machine allows the disk to reset itself back into place.
Many patients will feel immediate relief to sciatic symptoms
after using a herniated disk machine. Most of these
symptoms however, will return over time if the use of a
herniated disk machine is the only form of therapy that a
patient receives. Hot and cold therapy along with
extensive physical and massage therapy will help to prevent and
aid in the recovery of a herniated disk. Muscle spasms
are usually the cause of a herniated disk and so it is
important to treat the muscle spasm as well which is where
massage therapy comes into play. After a patient is in
the recovery stage, physicians will often recommend light
physical therapy as a means of further increasing the strength
of back muscles to prevent further damage to spinal
disks. A herniated disk machine can go a long way to
helping treat and prevent back pain.
